How it works
8 Inside Passage ports · Local operators · Clearly labeled sponsorship

Find more of what makeseach port distinctive.

Fjordfall is a port-by-port catalog of local experiences and places across Southeast Alaska — not just the excursions already promoted by the big sellers. Visitors browse and then contact or book with each business directly. Local operators get a fair path to visibility and can see exactly how often their listing is seen and clicked.

01 · Listings

Two kinds of listing, labeled as such.

Operator-confirmed listings come from the business itself. The operator confirms their email, and a person on the Fjordfall team reviews the listing before it goes live. Their profile says so.

Catalog listingswere compiled by Fjordfall from public sources so each port shows a fuller picture from day one. Their profile says they aren’t confirmed by the operator, and visitors are told to check details with the business directly.

Listing is free. Add your business or update an existing entry.

02 · Paid placement

Paid placement changes position, and it's labeled.

Operators with an approved listing can pay a flat monthly fee to appear higher in their port and category views. Higher plans sort above lower ones, and every paid listing carries a visible “Sponsored” label. Placement ends automatically if payments stop.

Paying doesn’t buy a guaranteed number of views, clicks, or bookings, and it doesn’t change a listing’s description or reviews. See pricing.

03 · Measurement

What we count, exactly.

Impression:a listing card or profile at least half on screen for one second in a visitor’s browser. Each listing is counted at most once per browser session per page type per day, and obvious bots are excluded.

Outbound click:a visitor following a listing’s website or booking link through Fjordfall, counted at most once per visitor per listing every ten minutes.

Operators see both numbers for their own listings on the Reports page. We don’t see or report what happens after a visitor leaves Fjordfall, so we don’t claim bookings or revenue.

04 · What Fjordfall isn't

Plain about the limits.

  • We don’t take bookings or payments for experiences — visitors deal with each business directly.
  • We only call a cruise line, port, or tourism organization a partner when a partnership actually exists.
  • A catalog listing is not an endorsement, and a paid listing is not a quality rating.
