Chief Shakes Tribal House

Heritage site · Shakes Island, Reliance Harbor

Replica Naanyaa.aayi clan house on Shakes Island, the historic home site of Chief Shakes' lineage, run by the Wrangell Cooperative Association.

House posts inside are replicas of originals considered the oldest known house posts in existence. Most original island poles were removed for preservation.

Petroglyph State Historic Site

Historic site · About 1 mile from the ferry terminal

Beach with at least 40 rock carvings at a site about 8,000 years old; a boardwalk leads to a viewing deck with replicas.

7-acre state site with an accessible boardwalk. Replica designs on the deck are provided for rubbings.

Wrangell Museum

Museum · Nolan Center, downtown

Museum in the Nolan Center on the enduring Lingít presence and Wrangell's Russian, British and American eras.
